Petersham and Ham Sea Scouts fireworks, Saturday 7 November on Douglas House Meadow: bonfire 5.30pm, display 7pm. Adults £15, children £10, under-2s free.

Petersham and Ham Sea Scouts will light their bonfire on Douglas House Meadow, beside the Thames on Petersham Road, at 5.30pm on Saturday 7 November, with the fireworks at 7pm. It is the group’s main fundraiser of the year, and this year the money is going towards a bouldering wall for local young people.

The group says the wall is meant for “the young people to use particularly in the winter when its dark and cold”. It describes the night as “a crucial fundraiser for us”.

Tickets are in their last ten days of sale. The poster says more than 80% had already gone, and the Sea Scouts say the event, which holds 1,500 people, sells out most years.

Times and tickets

From the organisers and the Ticket Tailor booking page, checked on 28 October 2026:

  • Gates open: 5pm
  • Bonfire lit: 5.30pm
  • Fireworks: 7pm
  • Event ends: 8.30pm
  • Family ticket: £42.50 for two adults and two children
  • Adult: £15
  • Child: £10
  • Under-2s: free
  • Booking fee: none

Any tickets still unsold on the day will be sold at the gate, the group says, but in a year when it expects to sell out, booking ahead is the safer bet.

What is on the meadow

The Sea Scouts list a licensed bar, mulled wine, a barbecue, tea and cake, a tuck shop, candy floss, children’s activities and a glow stall. The booking page also mentions a market and craft activities.

All the proceeds go to Petersham and Ham Sea Scouts, which the group says is a registered charity with more than 350 young people a week taking part in its activities.

Getting there

Parking near the meadow is very limited, and the organisers say most people walk from Richmond or Ham. The nearest station is Richmond; from there the 65 or 371 bus runs to Petersham.

The meadow’s address for maps is Douglas House Meadow, Petersham Road, Petersham, Richmond TW10 7AH.
