OneRichmond's carol concert at St Mary Magdalene on 1 December raises money for children in the borough, with readings from Samantha Bond. Tickets are £25, or £55 for a family.
A charity carol concert at St Mary Magdalene Church in Richmond on Tuesday 1 December will raise money for children facing hardship across the borough.
Carols for Hope is run by OneRichmond, the borough’s place-based giving charity. Its event page says local choirs will sing and the actors Samantha Bond, Jill Baker and David Horovitch will give readings. Mince pies and mulled wine are served on arrival.
Every penny raised up to £10,000 will be doubled. The Richmond Foundation is providing the match funding, the charity says.

Where the money goes
OneRichmond says the money will go to local charities helping children who face:
- mental health struggles
- deprivation and food poverty
- disability
- growing up in care
The charity does not pick the projects itself. A panel of borough residents with lived experience of those needs decides how the money is shared, through what it calls participatory grant making. OneRichmond is a registered charity, number 1208029, based on Kew Road in Richmond.
The concert is supported by the charity’s health partner, London Gynaecology, and by the local charity Sponsorstars. Richmond Council promoted it on 5 November on the charity’s behalf.
