Heartstopper's first kiss, a Fleabag episode and Michael Caine's Alfie were all filmed at York House in Twickenham. The council has listed 16 productions shot at the house.

The first kiss between Nick and Charlie in Heartstopper was filmed at York House in Twickenham. So was part of the second series of Fleabag, and Michael Caine’s Alfie in 1966.

Richmond Council, whose Mayor’s parlour is in the house, has published a list of film and television productions shot there, as part of its “100 years of York House” series. It names 16, and says they are “just some” of them.

Spotting it yourself

The council’s page points to three scenes:

  • Fleabag, series 2, episode 2: the front of the house and the Mayor’s parlour appear from 13 minutes 34 seconds in.
  • The Avengers: the council’s page links a 1963 clip on YouTube of the chase scene at York House.
  • Alfie: the page also links a clip of the house playing a convalescent home.

The list shows how much the building has been asked to play: a convalescent home, a cafe, an art gallery, a wartime embassy and the setting for a teenage first kiss.

What it means for you

  • Watch for it on screen. The council’s list is not complete, so there will be more productions than these.
  • Short filming and event closures around the borough appear on the council’s notices, which we follow on our roadworks and travel page.
